1951 Turquoise White Volkswagen T1 Samba Passenger Van

SKU: OXDNVWS005
$11.95

Details:

Relatively new to the 1:148 series, the Oxford VW T1 Samba Bus appears in a muted turquoise blue and white color scheme, topped with a pale cream roof holding highly decorative surfboards secured by a chrome roof rack. This and all other details are exactly the same as Oxford’s 1:76 scale version.

The interior of the bus is also cream including the steering wheel and the dashboard. The wheel surrounds echo the turquoise body color with chrome wheel centers, while the bumpers have been given a white finish. The model is registered GCG 597 from the 1950s.

The VW T1 Samba Bus is a variation of the first generation VW T1 van, which in real life made its appearance in 1951. The Samba Bus was considered at the luxury end of the range when improved features included two pivot doors at the side and a fabric sunroof. A mass of windows also gave it a light and airy feel. The Samba came with two-tone bodywork separated by a decorative strip.
